As the stock market closed for the week, green energy stocks ended on a somber note, with most companies in the segment finishing in the red, even as both the NIFTY and Sensex declined today.
Only a handful of stocks bucked the broader trend. Alpex Solar emerged as one of the top gainers, rising over 5%, followed by Vikram Solar, which staged a partial recovery from losses recorded over the past week. Acme Solar, Emmvee Photovoltaic Power, and KPI Green Energy also posted marginal gains. However, the majority of green stocks registered declines, reflecting broader weakness across the segment.
On a year-to-date basis, several stocks remain significantly down, highlighting continued pressure in the renewable energy pack despite occasional short-term recoveries.
