Solar panels on top of a Pikesville house roof caught on fire Friday afternoon, fire officials said.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, crews with the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company and Baltimore County Fire Department were called to a house in the 1300 block of Saddleback Road for a report of solar panels on fire.

When crews arrived, they saw light smoke.
Firefighters laid a supply hose line at the intersection of Sudvale Road and Carnation Court.
Crews extinguished the fire burning in the solar panels and prevented the blaze from spreading into the house, officials said.
At this time, the cause of the blaze is unknown.
