Mechanical processing enables the recovery of glass and metals, while thermal treatment helps remove polymers and separate layered structures. Chemical processes are then used to extract high-value materials such as silver and copper.
Under optimized conditions, the recycling system is capable of recovering approximately 85% to 95% of the total material content of the solar components, allowing reintegration into manufacturing supply chains and reducing dependence on virgin resource extraction.

The role of solar panel recycling is shifting from an end-of-life disposal solution to a strategic component of global supply chains.
