Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has signed battery energy storage purchase agreements (BESPAs) for 335 MW/670 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity under its Phase VIII auction for BESS procurement.
The contracts have been awarded to Advait Energy Transitions, which secured 150 MW/300 MWh of capacity, Equentia Energy Bellatrix (65 MW/130 MWh), and Sun Drops Energia (120 MW/240 MWh).
With the latest agreements, GUVNL’s cumulative contracted battery storage portfolio has reached 2,730 MW/5,460 MWh. Considering two charge-discharge cycles per day, this is capable of 10,920 MWh of daily energy storage services.
