L’Energètica has pre-selected two solar farms in the Camp de Tarragona, Els Bastards, between Alió and Puigpelat, and Montbrió I, in Montbrió del Camp, within the third Public Call to purchase facilities of up to five megawatts.
The call was limited to plants of up to five megawatts, but the two projects from Tarragona that have passed the first cut add up to 8.28 peak megawatts and almost six million euros in joint investment to supply energy to the public services of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Together, both projects mobilize 5.98 million euros for 8.28 peak megawatts. The energy will be used for the decarbonization of the public services of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Els Bastards will contribute 4.59 peak megawatts and will require an investment of 3.44 million euros. The farm already has the authorized project and is ready to begin construction.
Montbrió I will have 3.69 peak megawatts.
Its planned investment amounts to 2.54 million euros, although the plant is still pending the building permit. Even so, it has a grid connection point, prior administrative and construction authorization, as well as municipal approval, just like Els Bastards.
Of the 17 offers submitted to this third call, eight met the requirements set by the public company. Finally, four facilities have been pre-selected before the purchase and must undergo a preventive audit before formalizing the operation.
Along with the two parks in the Camp de Tarragona, L’Energètica has also included Granyanella 1, in Granyanella, and Rialb, in la Baronia de Rialb, in this phase. Both are already in operation and add up to 7.68 peak megawatts with an investment of 6.13 million euros.
In addition, the deployment links with other energy projects in the territory and with the limitations on large renewables set in part of l’Alt Camp and Baix Camp by the future regulation of the Prades park.
The total investment of the four pre-selected parks in this edition amounts to 12.12 million euros for a joint capacity of 15.96 peak megawatts. To this portfolio are added the parks of Vidreres, Sant Pere Sallavinera, Casserres and Les Oluges, in addition to Els Valentins, acquired outside the call.
L’Energètica, the corporate name of Energies Renovables Públiques de Catalunya, SAU, maintains as its objective to manage a generation park of at least 1,000 megawatts by 2040.
