Lebanon’s Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), which regulates and licenses electricity activities under Law No. 462/2002, has issued a Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) for new electricity generation projects. The EOI covers up to five grid-connected solar PV projects totaling 350 MWp, paired with BESS totaling 1,000 MWh. It also covers distributed dual-fired thermal plants with net capacities ranging from 20 MW to 100 MW. These plants are planned to use natural gas as the primary fuel and Heavy Fuel Oil as backup. Developers, investors, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and consortia have been invited to participate. ERA will use the submissions to identify technically and financially qualified developers and potential projects. The EOI will inform subsequent licensing, procurement, and project implementation phases led by the relevant public authorities.
