Risen Energy and Ascania Energy Partner on 100 MW of Solar in Ukraine – energynews.pro

Risen Energy and Ascania Energy sign two memoranda of understanding to develop up to 100 MW of solar and 200 MWh of battery storage in Ukraine.
Risen Energy and Ascania Energy have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering the development of solar and energy storage projects in Ukraine. The cooperation framework spans up to 100 MW of solar capacity and 200 MWh of utility-scale battery storage. The agreements were signed by Jerry Qin, President, Europe, at Risen Energy, and Yevhen Piatko, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner of Ascania Energy. Yehor Yarmolenko, Chief Technology Officer of Ascania Energy, also attended the ceremony.
The partnership responds to Ukraine’s demand for new generation capacity, decentralized energy infrastructure and flexible solutions that strengthen power reliability. Solar-plus-storage combinations can add distributed capacity, improve renewable energy integration and support businesses facing grid constraints. Other solar projects around the world illustrate this momentum, such as the 120 MW solar plant launched by Scatec in Tunisia or the second solar module plant opened by SEG Solar in the United States.
Ascania Energy operates across Ukraine’s energy value chain, from project development, engineering and EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) to system integration, energy management, trading and direct energy supply. Part of Ascania Group, which the company says has 30 years of business experience, it combines local execution capabilities with access to business customers.
Risen Energy offers PV modules, energy storage systems, inverters and intelligent energy management solutions, backed by integrated research and development, manufacturing, quality assurance, project delivery and global service capabilities. As of the second quarter of 2026, cumulative PV module shipments exceeded 121.4 GW and battery energy storage system deliveries surpassed 10 GWh, according to the company, with operations spanning more than 90 countries and regions.
In Ukraine, Risen Energy has supplied modules to 12 solar projects, including the 323 MW Pokrovskaya Solar Power Plant, gaining experience, the company says, in product adaptation, delivery and local services. This foundation supports utility-scale, C&I (commercial and industrial) and solar-plus-storage applications worldwide.
On August 13, an Ascania Energy delegation visited Risen Energy’s intelligent manufacturing facility to review its production, testing and quality management capabilities for PV and energy storage. Discussions covered the Hyper-ion Pro heterojunction modules, designed for high power, efficiency and lifetime energy yield, as well as the eTron liquid-cooled energy storage systems, which integrate thermal management, multilayer safety protection and intelligent control for utility-scale applications.
The two companies say they will continue cooperation in project development, product localization, engineering training, after-sales service and technical capacity building, combining Risen Energy’s technology and delivery capabilities with Ascania Energy’s local expertise to support solar-plus-storage deployment in Ukraine.
EDP Renewables North America and Redwood Coast Energy Authority completed Sandrini Energy Storage, a 92 MW/368 MWh system in Kern County, co-located with a 300 MW solar park.
