NLC India Limited (NLCIL), Neyveli, on behalf of its subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), has invited bids to arrange around 1,500 acres of land. The tender aims to arrange land through outright purchase for the development of solar projects in Tamil Nadu. It has sought bids until September 21, 2026. 1500 acres would usually be good for well over 300 MW of solar, with enough storage (100 MWh) thrown in for good measure.
The entire scope of work shall be carried out by the contractor for the arrangement of 1,500 acres of land through outright purchase for the development of solar PV projects in Tamil Nadu.
Under the scope of work, bidders are required to arrange 1,500 acres of private land (5 acres/MW) through outright purchase in Tamil Nadu for developing solar projects. The bidder is expected to undertake topographical surveys and provide site-enabling facilities for the land parcels, as mentioned in the technical specifications for the land.
The bidder is expected to obtain all required permits, NOCs, approvals, and clearances with respect to the land for the development of the solar project. The tender states that this scope of work is indicative only. The bidder is expected to undertake the transfer of the private land through outright purchase in the name of NIRL.
Under the scope of the tender, each individual land parcel shall have a minimum area of 500 acres or more and be suitable for the development of solar projects. If a bidder offers multiple land parcels, all the land parcels shall have specific access from the main road without any obstacles or ownership claims by any individual or agency.
If such access is not available, the necessary approach road shall be constructed through the shortest route. If any right-of-way (ROW) issues arise for the interconnecting transmission line on the offered land parcels, the successful bidder shall be responsible for clearing the ROW issues.
Multiple land parcels can be accepted, subject to at least one parcel having a minimum area of 500 acres. All the offered land parcels shall be located within a 50 km radius of an STU substation of 110 kV or above voltage level.
