Gov. Evers inspects Omro nonprofit’s solar panels to tout clean energy – WBAY

OMRO, Wis. (WBAY) – Gov. Tony Evers visited a nonprofit in Omro this week to tout renewable energy.
“They’re putting solar on the roof. They have put it on, and looks like it’s gonna work well, save them significant money,” he said at Casa Esther, an advocacy for immigrants in the area.
As of this past spring, more than $3 million was awarded in grant money to support solar investments for 270 different projects.
Casa Esther recently received a $5,000 grant towards its new solar panels. It was part of a larger push, “Renew Wisconsin,” splitting $30,000 among six organizations. Together, the six projects are adding more than 300 kilowatts of solar energy.
