The Piasa Palisades Group Speaker’s Series kicks off on Tuesday with an in-depth discussion on the benefits and challenges to local communities of adding utility scale solar to the state’s energy mix. Speakers will discuss the grid support offered by Battery Energy Storage Systems and innovative projects from around the state.
The speakers that will lead the discussion are Reverend Cindy Shepherd with Faith in Place, and Kevin McKee solar energy specialist with the Metro East Green Alliance, as Sally Burgess, the Sierra Club Chapter’s Downstate Advocacy Director, tells The Big Z.
This event will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30pm at the Old Bakery Beer Co. in Alton. It is free to attend and no registration is necessary.
