A shelter-in-place order has been issued for Summerside residents along South Drive from MacKenzie Drive to Bayview Drive.

The order was sent through Summerside police and the Summerside fire department shortly after 7 a.m. Labour Day Monday due to a fire at the solar farm.
Residents are being ordered to remain indoors and avoid travelling through the affected area. Close all windows and doors. Turn off ventilation systems, air conditioners and anything that draws outside air into your home or business, where possible.
Keep pets indoors.
The public is also ordered to avoid the area to allow emergency crews to safely respond.
Emergency crews are currently on scene. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
