Germany has wrapped up a recent tender for innovative renewable energy projects, according to pv magazine. The exercise attracted 53 bids with a combined capacity of 678 MW, while the authorities ultimately awarded 32 projects totaling 480 MW.
Every selected project involved photovoltaic plants paired with energy storage, continuing a pattern in which the Bundesnetzagentur predominantly chooses solar-plus-storage proposals through these tenders.
The German Federal Network Agency reported that tariffs in the latest round ranged from EUR0.0450 per kWh to EUR0.0540 per kWh, producing an average price of EUR0.0514 per kWh.
By region, Bavaria received the largest share of awarded capacity at 177 MW. Brandenburg followed with 94 MW, and North Rhine-Westphalia secured 48 MW.
The result marks a decline in average pricing compared with the prior tender of the same type, which was finalized in June. That earlier round awarded 29 projects with a total capacity of 482 MW, with final tariffs spanning EUR0.0475 per kWh to EUR0.0559 per kWh and an average of EUR0.0534 per kWh.
Looking further back, a tender held in October 2025 resulted in 485 MW of awarded capacity at final prices between EUR0.0479 per kWh and EUR0.0559 per kWh. Another tender finalized in July 2025 awarded 486 MW at final prices ranging from EUR0.0500 per kWh to EUR0.0639 per kWh.
In October 2024, the agency selected 50 projects with a total capacity of 587 MW, with final prices from EUR0.0674 per kWh to EUR0.0745 per kWh and an average of EUR0.0709 per kWh. A July 2024 auction awarded 43 projects totaling 512 MW, with tariffs between EUR0.0678 per kWh and EUR0.0917 per kWh and an average of EUR0.0833 per kWh.
The preceding exercise, finalized in October 2023, assigned 32 projects with a total capacity of 408 MW. Final tariffs then ranged from EUR0.077 per kWh to EUR0.0878 per kWh, with an average price of EUR0.08 per kWh.
Across these rounds, the awarded capacity has fluctuated while average prices have generally moved lower, based on the figures reported for each tender.
