TP Solar Ltd, the solar manufacturing arm of Tata Power and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), produced 1 GW of solar modules and 900 MW of solar cells in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 (July to Sept. 2026).
In the first half of FY27 (April to Sept. 2026), TP Solar manufactured 2 GW of modules and 1.8 GW of cells as it continued to ramp-up capacity and improve operational efficiency.
The company said the PV modules produced at the facility comply with India’s Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) and are listed under the government’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
TP Solar operates a 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Nearly 80% of the facility’s workforce comprises women. Tata Power, through TPREL, has invested around INR 4,300 crore in establishing this facility.
