Standard Solar Acquires Two Washington Solar Projects Totaling 15.79 MW from OneEnergy Renewables – citybiz

Standard Solar, a Brookfield portfolio company specializing in commercial and community solar development, has acquired two solar projects in eastern Washington from OneEnergy Renewables, adding a combined 15.79 megawatts of planned generating capacity to its portfolio.
The acquisition includes the Palouse Junction project in Connell and the Cunningham project in Othello. Both ground-mounted solar installations are expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027.
Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Together, the projects are projected to generate more than 29,000 megawatt-hours of electricity during their first year of operation, supplying renewable power to local utilities.
The larger project, Palouse Junction, will have a capacity of 12.1 MW DC and is expected to produce approximately 22,339 MWh annually. Franklin Public Utility District will purchase electricity from the project under a 10 MW AC arrangement.
The Cunningham project will provide 3.69 MW DC of generating capacity, with estimated first-year production of 6,917 MWh. Big Bend Electric Cooperative will serve as the project’s electricity offtaker under a 3 MW AC arrangement.
OneEnergy Renewables will continue serving as the developer and engineering, procurement and construction provider for both projects.
The transactions mark the first collaboration between Standard Solar and OneEnergy Renewables on projects in Washington.
Eric Partyka, Director of Business Development at Standard Solar, said the acquisitions reflect the company’s focus on expanding distributed solar generation through partnerships with regional utilities.
“These projects are an important example of how local utilities can bring the benefits of renewable energy directly to the communities they serve,” Partyka said.
He added that rural utilities play an important role in expanding renewable energy access and supporting long-term electricity supply planning.
Standard Solar plans to pursue additional solar acquisitions across Washington and the broader Pacific Northwest.
The company said its access to safe-harbored solar panels and long-term project ownership model could help developers advance qualifying projects through construction and commercial operation.
Erin Lynch, Senior Manager of Development at OneEnergy Renewables, said the partnership will support locally generated electricity for rural utility customers.
“Palouse Junction and Cunningham reflect the value of thoughtful solar development that aligns with local utility needs and supports Washington’s broader clean energy future,” Lynch said.
Headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, Standard Solar develops, finances, owns and operates commercial and community solar assets across the United States.
The company currently owns and operates more than 500 MW of solar generating capacity nationwide.
OneEnergy Renewables, headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, and Seattle, Washington, develops solar projects with an emphasis on responsible land use and utility partnerships.
The two Washington acquisitions expand Standard Solar’s distributed generation portfolio while supporting new renewable electricity capacity for Franklin Public Utility District and Big Bend Electric Cooperative.
