A new solar manufacturing facility is coming to Hanford and could create more than 600 jobs in the Central Valley over the next few years.
AMPS Solar is expanding into the Central Valley and plans to assemble and manufacture solar modules.
Cole Earley, the company's marketing and business development director, said the hiring process has already begun and is expected to ramp up once the production line becomes operational.
The facility will operate in phases, with positions available in assembly, manufacturing, packaging, and shipping.
Earley said the company plans to offer both skilled positions and entry-level opportunities that do not require previous experience.
The facility is expected to operate up to 24 hours a day, with roughly 200 employees per shift.
The California-based company acquired the former Del Monte tomato processing and distribution facility in Hanford.
AMPS Solar will begin filling positions in November.
