Inox Solar Americas LLC reported that construction at its planned photovoltaic cell manufacturing facility in Greenville, North Carolina, is advancing and has entered the equipment installation phase, according to a company press release. The company said the 3.0-GW facility, spanning 515,460 square feet, remains on schedule to begin production in the second quarter of 2027.
The plant is central to the company’s effort to build a more vertically integrated U.S. solar manufacturing platform. Once operating, domestic advanced PV cell output is intended to complement Inox Solar Americas‘ existing U.S. module manufacturing, giving customers broader access to domestically made solar technology and a supply chain the company describes as more transparent, resilient and reliable.
The company’s integrated U.S. manufacturing strategy is designed to increase domestic content across its product portfolio and to help customers address evolving domestic-content requirements, Foreign Entity of Concern and Prohibited Foreign Entity considerations, applicable trade rules and federal energy-policy provisions. Inox Solar Americas said its approach stresses qualified sourcing, documented manufacturing processes and readiness for compliance obligations tied to increasingly complex procurement and project requirements.
Combining U.S. cell and module production is meant to give the company greater visibility and control over critical stages of the solar supply chain. Inox Solar Americas said it is strengthening supplier qualification, component-origin documentation, material traceability, production records and supply-chain due diligence so customers can obtain more transparency about where and how products are made. Added domestic output is also intended to reduce reliance on imported cells, limit exposure to global supply disruptions and trade-related risks, and support more dependable availability for U.S. project pipelines.
The Greenville platform will pair Galaxion monocrystalline cell technologies with the company’s U.S.-made Gamma Series monofacial and Vega Series bifacial modules. Automation, precision cell processing, integrated inspection and testing, process controls, documented quality procedures and production traceability are designed to provide manufacturing control from cell production through finished-module assembly. The company said this integrated approach supports consistent quality, efficiency and energy yield, durability and dependable performance in demanding U.S. solar applications.
Moving from module manufacturing into domestic cell production is intended to broaden Inox Solar Americas’ capabilities and its ability to serve large-scale, multiyear customer requirements. The company said it is building manufacturing scale, supply continuity, domestic-content capability, traceability, compliance readiness and product support, which together with product performance, quality systems, warranty support and a commitment to the U.S. market are meant to reinforce confidence among customers, developers, investors and lenders.
Ashok Nair, President and CEO of Inox Solar Americas, said the company’s progress on U.S. cell manufacturing marks an important step toward a more integrated and resilient domestic solar supply chain, and that combining advanced cell technology, high-performance module manufacturing and quality control within its U.S. platform strengthens its ability to support customers with reliable supply and the bankability their project pipelines require.
Inox Solar Americas, founded in 2026 in the United States, specializes in advanced monocrystalline PV cells and high-performance Gamma Series monofacial and Vega Series bifacial modules. Its photovoltaic solutions are engineered for residential, commercial, industrial, community solar and utility-scale applications.
The company acquired Boviet Solar’s U.S. PV manufacturing assets in Greenville, including 3.0 GW of annual module manufacturing capacity and 3.0 GW of planned annual cell manufacturing capacity expected to come online in 2027. Inox Solar Americas is part of the broader renewable energy platform of Inox Clean Energy and the INOXGFL Group, which is headquartered in India.
