ACME Solar has also doubled its BESS capacity target for 2030 to 50 GWh from 25 GWh, while raising its renewable energy capacity ambition to 15 GW from 10 GW.
India is forecast to see rise in demand from around 1,418 TWh in 2025 to 1,945 TWh by 2030, led by industrial load, cooling demand, and EV adoption. Hybrid power can bridge the gap between VRE generation and peak demand, reducing transmission constraints.
Saur Energy spoke to top leaders from India’s solar and storage companies about the challenges, opportunities and the way forward. Excerpts:
As China’s solar, wind, battery and EV exports help accelerate decarbonisation worldwide, the country’s manufacturing dominance and growing geopolitical leverage raise important questions about who really stands to gain from the global energy transition.
Indian steelmakers’ carbon emission intensity averages about 2.5 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of steel (scope 1 and 2), roughly 12% higher than the global average for the blast furnace-basic oxygen furnace (BF-BOF) route.
The Maharashtra government is developing a policy to solarise 22,185 rural water supply schemes as part of efforts to reduce mounting electricity dues and ensure uninterrupted drinking water services.
Saur Energy recently sat down with KN Sreevatsa, Group Co-CEO of FIMER, for an exclusive podcast exploring the European power electronics company’s journey in India.
