ITV Meridian's Siri Hampapur has been speaking to concerned residents in Monk Sherborne in Hampshire.
People living in a Hampshire village say they are concerned that a proposed new solar farm will have a negative impact on the surrounding area.
Plans have been submitted to build Stokes Lane solar farm on 216 acres of land in Monk Sherborne, near Basingstoke.
However, villagers worry that if the development went ahead, it would use prime farmland and destroy wildlife habitats.
Simon Minas Bound, a Conservative councillor who represents Sherborne St John and Rooksdown on Basingstoke and Deane Council, said residents are not against renewable energy, but questioned the choice of site.
"We've got George Austen's burial site, we've got a Grade I listed church, we've got some really valuable declining species here," he said.
"So I think everybody would say that we're not against renewables, the biggest thing they don't understand is why they would choose this site.
"Hampshire has got huge areas of countryside that don't have this wildlife, these sorts of heritage assets and they don't understand why here."
Other villagers cited concerns around how the proposed solar farm would affect the countryside views, with one saying: "I live in the village, I walk these paths, I walk these fields, when it's gone, this is going to be gone forever in my lifetime, and that's what I've got to stop."

Developers Solar2 were approached for a statement but they declined to comment.
However, the planning application by Solar Two says the site would provide enough renewable energy to power 9390 homes for 40 years. It also outlines how it would mitigate the effect on local wildlife, including planting trees, hedgerows and wildflowers.
Queens College, Oxford, – which owns the land – also declined to comment.Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council says it will consider residents' views before making a decision, but does not yet know when this will happen.
