Sineng Electric, a global power electronics manufacturer, has supported commissioning of a 50 MW solar PV project in Shinyanga, Tanzania. The project is Tanzania’s first utility-scale grid-connected photovoltaic power station. The plant is expected to generate around 72,000 MWh annually. Annual carbon dioxide emissions are projected to decline by about 57,000 tons. The facility connects to the national grid through a 220 kV transmission line. Sineng supplied 6.6 MW MV turnkey stations with integrated transformer and switchgear. The inverter solution delivers 99% efficiency and supports DC/AC ratio up to 1.8.
