Enviromena has secured a significant financing package to advance its solar energy projects, according to a report from pv magazine.
The company announced a £825 million ($1.1 billion) senior portfolio financing facility, which provides immediate capital for the development of a 1 GW pipeline. The credit arrangement was underwritten by a group of institutional investors.
The financing package includes an initial £525 million specifically designated for the buildout of Enviromena‘s solar pipeline in the UK. The facility is structured as a flexible platform, with an additional £300 million available through an uncommitted accordion. This accordion allows the funding to expand as Enviromena’s portfolio progresses.
The syndicate of lenders underwriting the financing includes BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB), Lloyds, NatWest, and Societe Generale.
Enviromena describes itself as an independent power producer. The company reports having built more than 120 solar plants to date, and is active in project development, construction, ownership, and operation. It has solar and battery energy storage projects across the UK and Europe, and claims a development pipeline exceeding 3 GW.
The company’s existing UK solar portfolio includes the 71 MW Medebridge Solar Farm. That project secured a 10-year power purchase agreement with the University of Manchester in 2025.
Perella Weinberg acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Enviromena for the transaction. Travers Smith served as borrower counsel, while Eversheds Sutherland acted as lender counsel.
