AXITEC’s Hybrid ESS To Maximize PV Self-Consumption – TaiyangNews

AXITEC promoted its AXIhycon ONE series home ESS at the show

AXITEC Energy, a Germany-based PV module supplier that has expanded into integrated energy solutions, showcased its AXIhycon ONE series energy storage system (ESS) at Intersolar Europe 2026, focusing on PV self-consumption maximization. 
The product combines a hybrid inverter and battery storage within a 540 × 350 × 1,630 mm (W × D × H) cabinet. The inverter, equipped with 3 MPPTs rated at 20 A each, can connect to a PV array of up to 24 kW. This clean DC power is then inverted to an AC power output of up to 15 kW (3-phase) at a full-load current of 21.7 A. Given the intermittent nature of solar irradiance, this inverter is designed for DC oversizing (DC/AC) up to 160% of the rated power output, maximizing the PV power availability. After feeding captive loads, the excess harvested energy is saved in a 34 kWh battery stack, avoiding potential loss. This stack consists of 7 lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs, each with a capacity of 4.8 kWh, and a terminal voltage of 716.8 V. In the case of a grid outage, this stored energy is fully discharged via the built-in bidirectional battery inverter at a full-load power output of 15 kW. The ESS can switch to off-grid mode in less than 10ms and provides stable backup support for up to 2.26 hours. 
According to the product data sheet, the hybrid system has a conversion efficiency of up to 98%. 
The company offers a 10-year product warranty on this product and expects to commercialize it across Europe in 2027.
