The technology allows cows to roam freely without snapping cables, scratching modules, or causing structural damage.
The motorized single-axis trackers are each equipped with this mode.
As cattle enter the paddock, the automated system moves the panels into a vertical angle.
The lowest edges of the frames are raised, enabling overhead clearance for the cows to graze safely.
Once the herd moves to a new grazing area, the panels return to standard mode to maximize electricity production.
The combination of cattle ranching and solar generation delivers long-term benefits.
The need for gas mowers and chemical herbicides are eliminated. This lowers site emissions and local operational expenses.
Consumers benefit from cost-effective wholesale electricity and farmers from new land revenue.
Furthermore, the rotational grazing boosts soil organic matter, moisture retention, and carbon sequestration.
