Şanlıurfa Water and Sewerage Administration General Directorate (ŞUSKİ), a public utility operating in the municipality of Şanlıurfa, southeastern Türkiye, has published a tender for a 23.9 MW solar plant.
Available tender details state the chosen developer will be responsible for the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the solar project. Once operational, the plant is expected to meet a significant portion of ŞUSKİ’s energy needs.
The project forms part of the World Bank-funded Public and Municipal Renewable Energy Project, an initiative working to scale up renewable energy usage through installations designed for self-consumption across public facilities in Türkiye.
Interested developers are required to purchase tender documents, for a fee of TRY 5,000 ($102.37), as a prerequisite to submitting a bid.
A pre-tender meeting will take place on October 6, ahead of a deadline for applications on October 20. Bidders must also submit a provisional guarantee of $400,000 or its equivalent.
Türkiye added 2.1 GW of solar across the first half of this year, taking total capacity to around 26.9 GW. The number of solar plants in the country exceeded 41,000 by the end of June, up from around 37,600 at the start of the year.
