A Jackery Home Power 3000 owner said an intermittent F6 AC error turned a backup-battery purchase into a warranty dispute, with support initially asking for video proof that the owner could not provide.
The complaint appeared to strike a chord with other shoppers in the brand’s Reddit community.
In a thread on Reddit‘s r/jackery, the original poster explained that their Home Power 3000 would sometimes display the F6 warning. They contacted Jackery customer support for assistance, but that’s when the trouble really started.
According to the OP, they initially provided a screenshot of the Jackery app showing the error. However, Jackery customer service told them they had to provide a video of the F6 warning on the device itself.

Frustrated, the owner questioned whether the extended warranty they had purchased was a total waste of money.

“I really like my Jackery,” the OP said. But they also wondered, “If I can’t get this fixed then what is the point in keeping it and not going to a competitor battery company.”
Commenters shared the OP’s trepidation.
“These type of posts are making me nervous,” said one, adding that they had been considering buying multiple generators and panels from the brand but were concerned by other users’ negative experiences.
Before long, Jackery’s U.S. account joined the discussion and told the owner that “the video you shared below is perfect for our tech and customer support team’s reference.”
Later the OP provided an update saying that Jackery had agreed to replace the unit and that they had received a shipping label to do so.
One commenter pointed to a possible cause outside the unit itself, saying they had the same F6 issue and “replaced the wall outlet and all was fine.”
Elsewhere in the thread, a user said that one of their two 3000 units had the F6 issue and was replaced under warranty after troubleshooting.
Other users said the choice of seller could make a difference, too. For one, they felt that purchasing their unit at Costco had given them at least “some level of recourse.”
For many buyers, the appeal of a battery backup is fairly straightforward: It can keep low-watt household technology online during an outage without relying on a fuel-burning generator. However, this all depends on the battery functioning properly when it is needed most.
