New Delhi: NLC India Limited has awarded an order to Vikram Solar Limited for the supply of 289.87 MWp of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for an 810 MW solar power project at the RUVN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The order supports the development of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure in the state, which has significant potential for solar power generation.
The contract covers the supply of advanced N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) solar modules to NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited. The modules are intended for deployment in the utility-scale solar project at the RUVN Solar Park.
The solar modules supplied by Vikram Solar will use N-type TOPCon cell technology, which is designed to improve energy generation efficiency and deliver reliable performance under demanding environmental conditions.
The technology offers several benefits for large-scale solar installations, including:
These features are particularly relevant to western Rajasthan, where intense sunlight and high temperatures create challenging operating conditions for solar power installations.
Located in the Thar region, the RUVN Solar Park is among the major solar developments in the country. The project forms part of Rajasthan’s efforts to harness its abundant solar energy resources and expand renewable power generation capacity.

The order from NLC India strengthens Vikram Solar’s position as a supplier of high-efficiency solar modules for large grid-connected projects in India. It also adds to the company’s order book amid growing demand for advanced solar technology and domestically manufactured PV modules.
For utility-scale solar projects, consistent product quality, module reliability and timely deliveries are essential to achieving long-term energy generation targets. The performance of solar modules directly affects the electricity output and operational efficiency of large solar installations.
Commenting on the order, Sameer Nagpal, Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar, said the contract for nearly 290 MWp of solar modules reflected confidence in the company’s TOPCon technology and its ability to supply large-scale renewable energy projects.
He added that Vikram Solar remained focused on strengthening its manufacturing capabilities while ensuring performance certainty and supply reliability for utility-scale solar developments.
Headquartered in Kolkata, Vikram Solar is an Indian solar photovoltaic module manufacturer with an international presence across 39 countries.
The company said it had been recognised as a Top Performer in PVEL’s PV Module Reliability Scorecard for the ninth time. It also reported being included in BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 solar PV module manufacturer list for 10 consecutive quarters.
Vikram Solar has established a nationwide distribution network comprising 119 authorised distributors and more than 750 dealers.
The company’s manufacturing capabilities, product portfolio and distribution network support its participation in India’s expanding solar energy market, including large-scale utility projects.
The latest order for the Rajasthan project further adds to its business in the solar module segment as developers continue to invest in renewable energy generation capacity.
