The Government of Karnataka in its endeavor to achieve minimum of 3% solar energy out of total projected consumption, proposes to install 2000 MW solar power by 2021 as below:

It is proposed to meet the solar targets under different segments as below:
- Grid connected projects
It is proposed to achieve minimum 1600MW of grid connected utility scale solar power generation projects for sale of power to state ESCOMs,3rd party sale and captive consumption.
- Grid connected roof top projects
It is proposed to achieve minimum 400 MW of grid connected rooftop solar generation projects in the state by 2018.
